Chianti

The Chianti region is situated in the heart of Tuscany and is made up of a hilly area between Florence and Siena. The Chianti territory is famous all over the world for its picturesque landscapes and the produce from its land, such as the excellent red wines.

Its hills come one after the other in a perfect mosaic of alternating Medieval hamlets, castles, churches, abbeys, monasteries and vineyards, olive groves, streams and woods. Man’s industriousness and inventiveness have modeled the slopes of these hills creating a unique and unrepeatable harmony with the surrounding nature. Nature and man have created these unique scenarios where it is still possible to be at one with the rhythms of life. This alliance has made the Chianti an evocative place where it is possible to rediscover ancient flavours and past traditions which would otherwise be lost.

The Chianti region is a land rich in culture, history and nature, which offers its visitors a vast choice of tradition and nature.

You can visit Florence and Siena, two of the most famous and beautiful art cities in Tuscany and Italy, but it is also possible to explore ancient medieval hamlets such as San Gimignano and Monteriggioni, as well as discovering castles, abbeys and monasteries which are less visited but certainly just as fascinating.

For nature lovers, the Chianti territory offers enchanting itineraries to travel along by foot, bicycle or horse-back. Woods, vineyards and olive groves create backgrounds for rural lanes and paths leading through uncontaminated and tranquil environments, where unique colours and odors unite to create picturesque scenery.

The tranquility and the serenity of its land makes Chianti an ideal place in which to spend moments in total relaxation under the Tuscan sky. The embrace of the surrounding nature and the presence of uncontaminated spots create an atmosphere of peace and quiet in which it is possible to be at peace with yourselves and the rhythms of life.

Furthermore, Chianti is a land of great enological and gastronomical culture. Its products reflect the harmony and tradition that characterizes these places. The world-famous red wine takes its name from the Chianti region. The wine, like all the other products, represents the territory, the culture and the traditions of the Chianti area in which the alliance between man and nature persists. At the numerous wine cellars and estates in the area you can sample the typical products of the territory: Chianti Classico wine, extra virgin olive oil, vinegars, cheese, a range of prosciutto and salami.

The Park Hotel Chianti can organize a range of activities linked to the Chianti region for its guests which you can discover in the special “Proposals” section.
